A Toyota Cressida and a Yank Tank.
I vaguely remember the Cressida and that it was a big car at the time, second in the Toyota range only to the C rown .
Interestingly there looks to be more passenger space in the Cressida...

Yea, but how many more dead hookers can fit in the yank tank?

A buddy of mine had a Cressida that he was restoring. Apparently it shares most of it’s drivetrain and suspension with the same-era Supra.

It’s a Continental, as in the size of a continent. The Cressida was designed to fit a family, the Lincoln was made to fit either a grand dame of the blue hair brigade with maybe a poodle in the passenger seat, or a guy in a fedora with a stogie.

only thing more absurd than a smog choked 460
is the smog choked 500 ci Cadillac engine of the same time period.

I inherited a 78 Town Car many years ago, drove it from FL to PA twice with my dog and felt like we should have brought about 8 friends. Interestingly, the Lincoln Continental is he better vehicle to drive around town and the Town Car is probably a better choice for driving across the continent.
